My name is Twan Dubose, and I’ve been blessed to be married to my lovely wife, Harmony Dubose, for 6 years. We have one son, Amari, who is 5 years old. I grew up at Flag Branch Church, following in the footsteps of my grandmother, Glennie Rorie, who was a devoted member for many years.
Currently, I serve on active duty with the U.S. Marines, which has shaped my commitment to service and discipline. Throughout my life, my faith has been strengthened by the example of my grandmother and the church community that nurtured me. Now, as a family man, I’m excited to raise my son in the same faith-filled environment that meant so much to me.
Flag Branch has always felt like home, and I am honored to continue the legacy of service and devotion within this church. I look forward to contributing my experiences and talents to the fellowship, whether through leadership, support, or helping with community activities.
Being a member of Flag Branch means not only spiritual growth for me and my family, but also the opportunity to honor my grandmother’s memory by serving in the same place that shaped her faith and mine. I/m excited to see what God has in store for us as we continue our journey together.

I, Shontavia D. Chambers was born and raised in Monroe, NC. A significant part of my childhood was spent under the loving care of my grandmother, Maedell Chambers, who, along with my mother, instilled strong Christian morals and values in me from an early age.
I regularly attended Flag Branch Missionary Baptist Church with them and took part in various church activities throughout my upbringing. I joined Flag Branch in the late eighties while I was a student at Monroe Middle School and have vivid memories of being baptized in the pool behind the old Nicey Grove Church.
At Flag Branch, I served on the usher board, sang in both the Flag Branch chorus (travel choir) and the youth choir, and engaged in numerous church-sponsored events, including those organized by the Union County Union Youth.
After graduating from high school, I married and started a family, after which I decided to join Belmont Missionary Baptist Church. There, I served in various capacities as I continued my spiritual journey with God.
Proverbs 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This scripture has resonated with me throughout the years. I view my return to Flag Branch Missionary Baptist Church as a “homecoming” Indeed, there is truly no place like home!
In conclusion, my ultimate aspiration is to become the servant that God has called me to be.
